I'm getting a CT scan on my brain. Will I get the results the day of?

also, for the constract material that they give you... will be be just one needle/dose injected into a vein, or a full-fledge IV system?

Answer:
Do not be scared. You will be fine. The head scan will take about 10 - 15 minutes. Sometimes we do a scan with and without contrast because the brain can be visualized differently The Radiologist will report your scan the same day ( or the next day ) but then the report has to be typed and sent. Allow a week for the results.
